ND Makeup
ND Makeup is made up of 2 professional makeup artists
who have combined their extensive training and experience to offer services
very similar to Kohl Face for bridal parties, photo shoots etc. ND Makeup offer
hair and makeup services and through establishing themselves in Newcastle Upon
Tyne they have opened a salon as well as a personal makeup brand, however they
do not offer nail services or video tutorials which is a missed opportunity
when YouTube is such an influential tool in todays beauty industry.
Pixiwoo
Pixiwoo is made up of 2 sisters who are both
professional makeup artists, they began making a name for themselves on YouTube
creating and demonstrating beautiful makeup looks to thousands of viewers.
Their company has grown rapidly over recent years thanks to YouTube; they are
now famous worldwide and have launched their own makeup brush and cosmetics
line.

I have looked at a number of websites to gain some inspiration of how I want to design my own, below are just some examples of my favourites:

Tom Ford
I chose to look at the Tom Ford website as it has a similar overall layout to what I imagine for my own website, the main page for his site has the same concept as mine, his name placement is where I would put my strongest port folio image which would make the target audience want to click on the button below to enter the actual site.
The way the tabs are set out at the top of the page are also the way I want to set mine out, each tab will open a separate page for the website.
The page for his beauty line is very similar to what I want, mostly white clean backgrounds with tabs along the top.

Her website is more casual and creative then Tom Ford's, but the company name in large above the tabs is how I would want each page to set out.
The main thing that I liked about this blog was the video page, when I storyboarded my website I wanted to include a page for tutorials on my site and this website shows exactly what I had pictured.
The video page shows each video set out in a playlist for easy access and watching, definitely how I want mine to be shown.
Lisa Eldridge is a very successful makeup artist and YouTube guru; she has worked for numerous designers and fashion magazines as well as thousands of subscribers online. Her website showcases her work, services, blog and YouTube channel. The main design of her website is a lot more casual and playful than the desired outcome of this website but the overall content and layout is very similar and offers some inspiration.
Karla Powell
The overall layout is similar, The fonts are my style but I absolutely love the way the portfolio page is set out, I want mine more as a horizontal scrolling list but this has opening my eyes to other options for layout.
The home page for Karla's site is set out how I want my mine, with bright eye catching images as well as a bit of information into her as a brand.
I have collected together some more screenshots of other websites I really loved the design of, they will help me to decide the final outcome for my own website.
